GCSE tuition tends to be aimed at students in years 10 and 11. Subjects offered are English Language, English Literature, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. All exam boards are catered for. The emphasis of these sessions is to target and improve weaker areas whilst improving speed and accuracy.

Year 11 work is focused on practice of past papers and improving exam technique. The focus of this is to assist students to interpret and respond to exam questions to meet examiners requirements.


For example English Language covers key aspects of the curriculum listed below:

- How to organise your studying to be an effective learner
- How to improve your reading skills - reading to purpose/for understanding/for exams
- How to make your writing accurate, to the point and gain marks
- How to approach planning exam answers
- How to gain extra marks and raise your grade


Whilst English Literature covers the following aspects of the curriculum:

- How to organise your studying to be an effective English Literature learner
- How to understand the story, plot, characters/motivation
- How to understand and respond effectively to poetry
- How to understand exam questions/plan exam answers/use quotes etc
- How to make your exam answer writing accurate, to the point and gain marks
- How to gain extra marks and raise your grade
